Meet Kyle Atwell PT, DPT, OCS, OMPT, CMTPT
Hi! I received my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), School of Medicine and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park(Go Terps!) earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.
I have experience working with all different types of people. I have worked with Division 1 athletes (swim team, lacrosse, crew, basketball), professional musicians, weekend warriors, desk warriors, students, people with chronic pain, and everyone in between. I enjoy complex cases and working with patients who have failed conservative treatment elsewhere. As a clinician, variety is what keeps the job interesting!
I believe it is my responsibility as a health care professional to continue my education and further my skills. I am committed to lifelong learning. I have completed the Janet Travell, MD Seminar Series dry needling training program instructed by internationally renowned Jan Dommerholt and others, earning a certification as a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT) through Myopain Seminars. I am a Certified Manual Physical Therapist (CMPT) through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, and a certified Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapist (OMPT) through a manual therapy certification program, instructed by internationally renowned Physical Therapist Jim Meadows. I am a board certified clinical specialist in orthopedics (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. I am currently enrolled in a fellowship program through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual therapy where I have access to some of the brightest minds in the field of physical therapy.
When I'm not working to make the greater Annapolis region a more pain-free, fit, and active community I am staying active myself! In my free time you can find me setting PRs in my home gym where I am either doing some form of powerlifting or Olympic lifting. I also enjoy surfing whenever possible, skiing, boating, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family.
